MINOR VIOLATIONS

Minor violations do not directly cause foodborne illness, but are important factors in providing safe, wholesome and unadulterated food products. A minor violation does not pose an imminent health hazard, but if not corrected could possibly lead to an imminent health hazard.

ADEQUATE HANDWASHING FACILITIES SUPPLIED & ACCESSIBLE

Examples of minor violations include using bar soap at the handwashing sink instead of liquid soap in an approved dispenser or an unenclosed paper towel dispenser at the handwashing sink.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Handwashing soap and sanitary single-use towels or drying device shall be provided in dispensers; dispensers shall be maintained in good repair (§113953.2)
  • Adequate facilities shall be provided for handwashing [§113953, §113953.1, §114067(f), §114311(a-b)]
