Diversity and Inclusion Executive Council

The Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Executive Council is comprised of executive leadership from across the County appointed by the Chief Administrative Officer. The Council is tasked to undertake a review of the goals and actions needed to root out and keep out institutional racism.  

Their role in the overall fabric of diversity and inclusion work is to provide enterprise-wide guidance and drives progression by helping establish priorities and strategic vision as well as serving as role models and champions of diverse perspectives and inclusive behaviors. 

Highlights from fiscal year 2021-2022 included:

  • Supporting the formation of our reimagined General Management System, Vision, Mission and Strategic Initiatives which influence every goal throughout the organization 
  • Members helped champion and support several policies that uplift county employees and all the residents we serve.
  • Executive sponsor County Employee Resources Groups 
  • Partnered with the Department of Human Resources’ Talent Development team to rollout Blind Spots a countywide internal training on Unconscious Bias for all county employees. 
  • The Council launched a quarterly, virtual townhall series for employees to encourage broader communication of topics and elicit feedback.

The D&I Executive Council is committed to the cocreation process that is essential to this work and to keeping awareness at the forefront.
