Diversity and Inclusion Executive Council

The Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Executive Council, appointed by the Chief Administrative Officer, is comprised of executive leadership from across the County. The Council is dedicated to reviewing and implementing goals and actions to eliminate institutional racism.

Their role includes providing enterprise-wide guidance, establishing priorities, setting strategic visions and serving as role models and champions of diverse perspectives and inclusive behaviors.

Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Highlights:

  • Policy support: Council members championed and supported several policies that uplift County employees and the communities they serve.

  • Virtual townhall series:
    • “Your Voice, One Vision” focused on the foundational steps for creating a culture of belonging.
    • “Inclusive Language and Communications” discussed the impact of communication on organizational inclusivity and proactive support for inclusive practices.
    • “Ethics & Engagement” examined the relationship between compliance, accountability, and the 2022 Employee Engagement Survey results, exploring ways to enhance our culture of belonging.

  • Listening sessions: The Council held two sessions on "Equity and Belonging," allowing anonymous engagement.

The D&I Executive Council is committed to the co-creation process, ensuring that awareness and inclusion remain at the forefront of their efforts.
