American Rescue Plan Act

Overview

The County of San Diego is spearheading pandemic recovery with $650 million in one-time funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). These funds provide crucial local support for families, businesses and communities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our ARPA initiative is anchored by community input, creating a framework that places equity at its core while fostering resilient and prosperous communities.

Strategies

It focuses on a three-pronged strategy:

Protect Families
Resources allocated to save lives and protect families through investments in testing, treatment, and vaccination access, ensuring community well-being.
Economic Recovery
Countering economic fallout with short-term recovery efforts and long-term investments through small business and non-profit stimulus payments to revitalize economic activity.
Investing in the Future
Building a better future by channeling funds into critical programs like child-care and behavioral health. This forward-looking strategy aims to create a robust and resilient community.
