Improve Energy Efficiency

The County of San Diego strives for energy efficiency in existing structures and assesses buildings to make determinations about energy efficiency opportunities. These assessments determine the plausibility of future energy reduction projects.

Pro-Active Energy Management

As part of the County’s Zero Net Energy Portfolio Plan to reduce by half its overall energy use, the Energy and Sustainability Division will closely monitor energy use to find opportunities for savings.  By comparing predicted end use energy profiles (heating/cooling, lighting, receptacles) with energy data using Building Automation System technology, energy use is measured to insure optimal operations, or to find functional problems and employ energy savings measures to fix them.
