Updates

  • Scaffolding 
    • Scaffolding near the south end of the building is needed to restore the windows and is scheduled to be removed January 2025.
    • Scaffolding will be erected around the building in sections through 2026 as the window restoration work completes.
  • Current work focus includes roof, elevators, windows, interior spaces, and seismic retrofit.
    • Seismic retrofitting of Café 1600 began in late July and was completed in October 2024.
      • Grand reopening TBD.
    • Roof replacement nearing completion scheduled through Spring 2025.
    • Elevator refurbishment
      • The second car was completed in October 2024.
      • The remaining car to be scheduled.
  • Removal and replacement of emergency backup generator and fuel tank is complete. Backfilling after tank removal is scheduled through December 2024.

The Count Administration Center (CAC) Major Systems Renovation Project began in 2019 and is being carried out in phases to minimize impact to operations. The renovation consists of the replacement of life safety, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural items to ensure current safety standards. The project also includes the complete remodel of the Board Chamber with state-of-the-art audio-visual system (now complete), restoration of historic windows, preservation of historic significant features, updated fire alarm system, fire sprinklers throughout, new LED interior lighting, ceilings, exterior painting of the building, rooftop fall restraint systems, new roofing, new emergency generator, new security system, renovation of elevators, and building wide seismic retrofit.
