Andrew Strong

Andrew Strong serves as the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for the Public Safety Group.

Andrew brings 16 years of experience in local government leadership and community engagement to his role. Andrew joined the County in the Human Resources Department in 2008 and was promoted into key leadership positions, including Chief of Staff of the Chief Administrative Office, Chief of Support Services in Planning and Development Services, and the inaugural Director of the Office of Equity and Racial Justice. He spent nine years in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman before settling in San Diego. Andrew also served as a Commissioner for the City of Chula Vista’s Growth and Oversight Management Commission and is currently a Commissioner for the City of Chula Vista Civil Service Commission.

Andrew is a proud alumni of RISE San Diego’s Urban Leadership Fellow Program, Generation III, 2017. He holds a BS in Workforce Education and Development Emphasis in Training from Southern Illinois University and a MA in Human Resources Management, from National University.
