Smoke-Free Outdoor Dining Regulations in the Unincorporated Area of San Diego County
On January 28, 2020, County of San Diego Board of Supervisors
approved an ordinance establishing smoke-free outdoor dining at
restaurants and other permitted food facilities in the unincorporated
area of San Diego County. You will find more detailed information and
definitions in the resources below, which include frequently asked
questions, an informational presentation, and free downloadable
signage.
Smoking is prohibited in:
- All outdoor dining areas of restaurants and other permitted food facilities,
- Within 25 feet from the perimeter of such area, and
- Within 40 feet from a permitted food facility that is a mobile food or temporary food facility, such as a food truck or food cart.
