P-1 Fiber Reinforced Asphalt Concrete
Summary- Adding fiber reinforcement to asphalt concrete creates a 3-dimensional matrix designed to resist reflective cracking and prevent rutting. This study will evaluate and compare fiber reinforced asphalt concrete to conventional/ polymer modified asphalt concrete on both a performance and cost basis to determine if continued use as part of the County’s resurfacing program is warranted.
Status- Construction on this project was completed on May 25th,2021. This project is currently in the evaluation phase. The last evaluation (24 month) was conducted in Spring 2023. The next evaluation (36 month) will occur in Spring 2024. Moving forward evaluations will take place annually. Annual evaluations will occur for 5-7 years post construction
