Support Groups and Activities

Many people find peer support a helpful tool that can aid in coping with certain challenges. There are a variety of organizations that offer support groups for consumers, their family members and friends.

See below for a list of support groups and activities for you or your family, in person or online.

 

Christie's Place:

Mindful Moms Support/Therapy Group

Please join Christie’s Place to learn and grow with other moms as they share experiences of motherhood and build skills such as mindfulness and self-compassion. Lunch will be served. Childcare available upon request.

 

When: Wednesdays from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Where: Christie’s Place, 2440 3rd Ave, San Diego, CA 92101

Christie's Place: Groups and Activities

Christie’s Place offers many in-person social and support groups for women and families impacted by HIV. Please see attached flyer for a list of social and support groups available. Even if you currently receive case management or support from another agency, you are welcome to participate in our groups.

POZabilities: Groups and Activities

POZabilities is a volunteer effort to reduce isolation, depression and stigma among individuals in San Diego who are infected and affected by HIV through education, outreach, and networking.

San Diego HIV Community Consortium (SDHIVCC)

SDHIVCC facilitates a Provider-Patient forum for community-based HIV providers and patients in San Diego and Tijuana/Northern Baja (SD/TJ),  to discuss the most recent HIV research findings, and open research protocols in San Diego and TJ/Northern Baja. Meets the first Saturday of the month at AHF Pharmacy meeting room, 3580 5th Ave., upstairs.

The San Diego LGBT Community Center:
Shades of Color

Join Shades of Color, an empowerment group for African American Men (MSM) at the San Diego LGBT Community Center every Wednesday from 12 PM - 1:30 PM to cover a variety of topics with speakers including living with HIV, community mobilizing, normalizing conversations about sex, dating, healthy relationships, and spiritual awareness.
