DPC in the Community
DPC is actively engaged in collaborative efforts that support small businesses and providers in the San Diego region and the local economy. The County of San Diego is Co-chair of the Anchor Institution Collaborative, an effort led by the San Diego EDC (Economic Development Corp) to bring together large buyers, community partners, and small businesses to maximize anchor institutions’ economic impact in the region through procurement, capital investment, and neighborhood infrastructure improvement. Find out more about how this effort supports small businesses and providers at the Anchor Institution Collaborative webpage.
The Department of Purchasing and Contracting held its first ever “Connecting with the County” event co-located at the County Administration Center and Waterfront Park on October 2, 2023. Attendees networked with organizations from the region, connected with representatives from various County departments, and attended a presentation and panel on how to do business with the County of San Diego.
