San Diego Sustainable Landscapes
In addition to being El Niño ready for your home here’s an approach to landscaping that can help you take advantage of the rain: San Diego Sustainable Landscapes Program (SLP).
San Diego Sustainable Landscape Guidelines pdf copy of the SLP Guidelines.
The SLP Guidelines will walk you through landscaping principles such as:
- Building healthy, living soil that acts like a sponge by absorbing water when it rains or we irrigate
- Collecting rain water from roofs and other hard surfaces, and redirecting it into the soil
- Growing plants that thrive in our local weather conditions and ‘feed the local pollinators’
