County of San Diego Resources:

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in San Diego County - provides local data, testing locations, resources and requirements regarding COVID-19.

County of San Diego Epidemiology Program - works to identify, investigate, register, and evaluate communicable, reportable, and emerging disease and conditions to protect the health of the community

Emergency Medical Services Branch - ensures that emergency medical services, including 9-1-1 ambulance services, and trauma care services are of the highest quality.

HIV/AIDS Epidemiology Unit - collects, analyzes, and disseminates local HIV and AIDS data to a broad audience.

HIV, STD and Hepatitis Branch - part of the Public Health Services for the County of San Diego. Their mission is to improve health outcomes in communities disproportionately impacted by HIV and STDs.

Maternal, Child and Family Health Services - compiles, analyzes, monitors, and disseminates selected health indicators on women, children and families in the community. Further links for statistical tables compiled by this unit can be found on the homepage hyperlinked above.

Office of Strategy and Innovation - provides a wide range of strategic management and accountability services to help the Health and Human Services Agency recognize and maintain new challenges, capitalize on emerging opportunities and proactively identify and address program performance problems.

San Diego Immunization Program - provides timely immunization information and links to resources and services to the residents of San Diego.

Self-Sufficiency Programs - branch of the Health and Human Services Agency that provides social welfare services to citizens in need.

  • Program Trend Data - contains trend data on five self-sufficiency programs: CalWORKS, Low Income Health Plan, County Medical Services, CalFresh/SNAP, and Medi-Cal.

Tuberculosis Control and Refugee Health Program - partners with various communities and organization to address health concerns affecting newly arriving refugee groups.

Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) - the world's largest, on-going telephone health survey system, tracking health conditions and risk behaviors in the United States yearly since 1984, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

California Department of Public Health (CDPH)- prepares an annual report, County Health Status Profiles, which shows data from all counties in California and as statewide data.

California Health Interview Survey (CHIS)- the nation's largest state health survey.

California Department of Health Care Access and Information (formerly California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development)

  • Data & Reports - Statewide and county level data on hospitals, primary care/specialty clinics and more.

CA Department of Education Data Quest - query system for Fitness Gram, school enrollment, special education and many more education-related topics.

Census Explorer - source for population, housing, economic, and geographic data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

CDC WONDERWONDER online databases utilize a rich ad-hoc query system for the analysis of public health data. You can access birth systems, cancer systems, underlying and multiple cause of death systems, vaccine adverse event reporting systems, and much more!

State of California Department of Health Care Services

Child Welfare Dynamic Report System - provides data for children from the CWS/CMS system.

Community Health Improvement Partners (CHIP)- works to improve the health of all San Diegans through needs assessment, advocacy, education, and programs best accomplished collectively.

HealthyPeople.gov - provides science-based, 10-year national objectives for improving the health of all Americans. Healthy People 2030 was launched August 2020.

National Center for Health Statistics - from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG)

Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS) - monitors six types of health-risk behaviors that contribute to the leading causes of death and disability among youth and adults.
