Privacy Breaches & Identity Theft

The Agency Compliance Office addresses privacy questions, privacy complaints, and reports of potential privacy breaches as they relate to HHSA programs and those of HHSA contractors. While we will do our best to assist you with any privacy question, we cannot address these topics as they relate to private businesses or other agencies. If you believe your privacy has been breached or have a question about how your protected information, you may reach out to that agency or to a variety of State and Federal agencies who provide oversight.  

Further, if you are concerned about your protected information, you may want to take some proactive steps to help ensure your information is safe. The State of California provides extensive resources related to what to do if you believe you are the victim of identity theft.
