Subareas and Alternatives Workshop

VC General PlanCurrent Valley Center General Plan Land Use Map

During this workshop, staff will present information on the public input received to date, and how that input was factored into criteria developed to identify recommended areas of change and the resulting draft subareas. Subareas are groups of properties where alternatives will be developed for changes to General Plan land use designations, zoning designations, and zoning development designators (i.e., setback, minimum lot size, and building type). The subareas and associated alternatives will also be considered in the development of additional community plan components, such as updates to the Mobility Element Network and the Valley Center Design Guidelines. Preliminary draft proposals for Community Plan Guiding Principles and Mobility Element changes will also be discussed at the workshop. The workshop will provide several opportunities to provide input on the draft subareas and alternatives and other proposals discussed. Following the workshop, the workshop website will be updated with links to materials for suggesting additional areas for consideration, and for reviewing and commenting on workshop proposals, during a 30-day public review period.
