Housing and Transportation

The Housing and Transportation section (Section) within the Long Range Planning division develops policies, ordinances, and programs that balance the need for housing at all affordability levels in the unincorporated county with infrastructure needs, and vital environmental resources that complement the County’s urban and rural character

The Section is driven to conserve and improve the condition of existing housing stock as well as provide a variety of mobility options to connect people to housing, recreation, jobs, open space, and entertainment. These values inform the tasks undertaken by the team to encourage multi-modal transportation networks, develop implementation programs, and apply the General Plan’s Housing Element.

Through these efforts and collaboration with stakeholders, the Section supports the goal of the Long Range Planning division to promote housing and mobility opportunities for all persons in the unincorporated county.
