Mission

To promote professional nursing practice by supporting quality nursing services to enhance the health and wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities.

Our role is to support quality, timely, and evidence-based care and services provided by nurses throughout the Health and Human Services Agency. This includes development, implementing and updating policies and standards of practice.

The Office of Nursing Excellence collects and analyzes data to develop processes that support the delivery of excellent services and to monitor service delivery and quality indicators. We support our stakeholders in developing process improvement initiatives.

  • NURSING STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES

    If you are a nursing student or your nursing school is interested in precepting with County of San Diego Public Health Nurses, please contact: MCSDNursingResidencyProgram.HHSA@sdcounty.ca.gov

    Your nursing school needs to have an existing Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) with the County of San Diego for precepting.  An MOA is a formal agreement between parties that outlines how we will collaborate to support your nursing education and goals. 

    If your nursing school does not currently have an MOA, please contact MCSDNursingResidencyProgram.HHSA@sdcounty.ca.gov to explore further options.

PUBLIC HEALTH CENTERS

The Public Health Centers offer a variety of services to the community.

Open Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm. Clinic hours may be extended to meet community needs.
