Housing Repair Loans and Grants Program

 

 

The San Diego County Home Repair Program provides loans or grants to eligible homeowners for minor home health and safety repairs.

To qualify:

  • Homeowners must live in unincorporated San Diego County or in one of the following cities:  Coronado, Del Mar, Imperial Beach, Lemon Grove, Poway, or Solana Beach.
  • The homeowner must reside in the home for at least 12 months prior to the approval of the application.
  • The household annual income must be at or below 80% of San Diego County’s Area Median Income

Home Repair Grant Program:

  • Eligible mobile homeowners only.
  • Non-repayable grant up to $20,000.

Home Repair Loan Program:

  • Eligible single-family homes, condominiums or mobile homes located in a mobile home park designed as condominium style, townhomes, manufactured or modular homes on private property, duplex, and triplex homeowners.
  • Owners may borrow up to $25,000.
  • Loans provided at a 3% simple interest calculated annually.
  • No monthly payment is required.
  • Total loan amount must be repaid at the sale or transfer of the property, at 30 years, or if the owner ceases to live at the property as their primary residence.

The San Diego County Home Repair Program is not designed as an emergency program.
