Mpox Local Situation

- On August 2, 2022, the County declared a local health emergency to respond to mpox.
- On November 10, 2022, following a significant decrease in new mpox cases and as a direct result of successful outbreak response measures, the local health emergency for mpox was allowed to expire.
- The County continues surveillance, disease investigation, vaccination, education, and outreach activities.

The County continues education and outreach efforts, including tailored support and resources to various community sectors via telebriefings, town halls, and other events.
Virtual Town Hall Recordings
- On August 11, 2022, County officials held a virtual town hall to brief on this mpox outbreak.
- On June 30, 2022, as part of San Diego Pride Week, County Public Health doctors held a virtual town hall on mpox and invasive meningococcal disease. This is a recording of that session with the community.
