What is it?

Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) is a type of bacteria that can cause many different kinds of infections. Hib can cause mild illness, such as ear infections or bronchitis, or severe illness, such as infections of the blood. The best way to prevent Hib disease is to get vaccinated.
